CHARLOTTE — A 35-year-old man from Charlotte was arrested following an incident in Shelburne today.
Police say they observed Christopher Carpentier operating his vehicle on US Route 7 at around 4:45 p.m.
Troopers had prior knowledge that Carpentier’s privilege to operate a motor vehicle was under criminal suspension in the state of Vermont, as well as him having court-ordered conditions of release prohibiting him from operating a motor vehicle.
A traffic stop was initiated on US Route 7 near Ferry Road.
While speaking with Carpentier, police say they detected several indicators of impairment and he was screened for driving under the influence.
He was placed under arrest for DUI #2, driving while license suspended, and violation of conditions of release.
He was transported to the Williston barracks for processing and later released on a citation to appear in court on November 7 to answer the charges of DUI #2, DLS, VCOR.
State Police was assisted in this incident by the Shelburne Police Department.
