KILLINGTON –– A 57-year-old man from Hartland was caught speeding more than twice the posted limit on Killington Road and faces charges of negligent operation of a motor vehicle, according to local police.
Kirk C. Jones was stopped by Killington Police on October 25 after a radar detected his vehicle traveling at 75 mph in a 35 mph zone near Rams Head.
Jones was handed a speeding ticket with a hefty fine of $599 and eight points assessed on his driver’s license.
Following the incident, Jones was also issued a citation to appear in Rutland Superior Court-Criminal Division on December 18 at 10 a.m. to answer the charge.
The traffic stop was conducted by Patrolman M. Hoffman.
