CAVENDISH –– A Proctorsville man was arrested for driving under the influence in Cavendish on Oct. 19 after being stopped for speeding.
According to local law enforcement, John Genova, 66, was pulled over on Route 103 around 9:04 p.m. by Deputy King, who was operating a stationary radar at the time.
Genova was reportedly driving a 2023 Dodge Challenger at 72 mph in a 50 mph zone.
Upon stopping Genova, Deputy King noted signs of impairment. After conducting a screening, Genova was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
He was processed, cited, and released following the incident.
This case serves as a timely reminder of the dangers of impaired driving and the importance of adhering to posted speed limits.
