Brentwood man assaulted, firearm stolen in home invasion

BRENTWOOD –– A 67-year-old man was assaulted and a firearm stolen during a home invasion on Smith Road, according to the Brentwood Police Department on Oct. 14.

Police reports detailed the victim sustained a deep laceration to his hand and complained of severe pain in his chest and back.

He claimed he was jumped by three men who became aggressive, demanding he leave his house. Following the assault, the perpetrators tied his hands and feet, leaving him in his front yard.

The stolen firearm was later recovered in Massachusetts.

The three suspects have been identified, and warrants for their arrest will be issued soon, according to the police.

The victim, who was not immediately identified, was transported to the hospital for treatment of rib fractures and a broken scapula.

In a statement released by the Brentwood Police, the incident was described as isolated, posing no immediate threat to the public.
