MILTON –– A two-vehicle collision on US Route 7 resulted in a fatality on October 13.
The Milton Police Department reported that the crash took place near Bartlett Road around 12:10 p.m. on October 12.
Responders included Milton Police, Fire, and Rescue services.
Initial investigations by Sergeant Gordon LaFountain identified the drivers involved as Philip Cook Jr., 72, of Georgia and John Firlotte, 56, of Enumclaw, WA.
Cook was driving a 2010 Honda Civic southbound on US Route 7 when he crossed the centerline and collided with Firlotte’s northbound 2023 Dodge Ram.
Cook suffered severe injuries from the crash and was transported to UVM Medical Center in Burlington, where he later died on October 13.
Firlotte and a passenger in his vehicle sustained minor injuries.
The crash is still under investigation, and Milton Police are urging any witnesses to come forward.
