CASTLETON — Police are continuing to investigate a homicide that occurred in Castleton.
On Thursday, authorities were notified that a 77-year-old woman was found deceased on the Rail Trail near the Castleton College campus.
Police say Honoree Fleming entered the Rail Trail from the pavilion area at around 4:00 p.m.
She walked south towards Poultney.
Fleming was wearing a white and blue striped shirt, black pants, and black sneakers.
Anyone who saw Honoree walking is asked to contact the Vermont State Police.
The investigation is ongoing, and police say they are seeking the public’s help in identifying a person of interest.
On Friday, police released surveillance footage from the area.
The footage shows a man walking on the trail at around 4:00 p.m.
Police say the man is considered armed and dangerous.
