NEWPORT –– The Newport Police Department is currently investigating a hit and run collision involving a bicyclist and a vehicle that took place on the afternoon of Sept. 19 on the intersection of Cheney and Cedar Streets.
Authorities are now asking for the public’s help in their investigation.
They are requesting anyone who has information on the accident, or surveillance video that could help identify the vehicle involved, to come forward.

The Newport Police Department has not released any further details regarding the current condition of the bicyclist or the description of the vehicle involved.
