SALEM –– An armed robbery occurred at a business on Route 28 on Wednesday, Sept. 27, according to the Salem Police Department.
A suspect, still at large, reportedly tied up employees and left the scene on foot headed southbound towards the Methuen line.
Police received a 911 call from the business, located at 522 South Broadway, reporting the robbery.
Responding patrol units quickly arrived on scene, cleared the business and ensured the safety of the employees. A K-9 unit was deployed and tracked towards the rail trail and Methuen.
Detectives from Salem are processing the scene for evidence and Methuen Police are assisting with the search for the suspect.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 50s or 60s, about 6’2” tall. He was last seen wearing a black COVID mask, glasses, a black Bruins cap, black sweatshirt or hoodie, black sweatpants, black shoes, and carrying a black backpack.
