HIGHGATE — Police responded to a three-vehicle crash in Highgate today.
The crash took place on Route 78, near the intersection of Parizo Road, at around 7:45 a.m.
According to the report, Shea Peno, 36, of Highgate, was stopped in the westbound lane of Route 78 awaiting a left-hand turn to be completed by Christopher Riley, 34, of Richford.
Police say Peno failed to stop as well as he traveled westbound along Route 78 and hit Riley from behind.
Riley was pushed into the eastbound lane of Route 78 where he was struck in a head-on manner by Reymundo Ramos, 38, of Swanton.
State Police was assisted on the scene by members of the Highgate Fire Department, AmCare Rescue, Missisquoi Valley Rescue, the Swanton Police Department, and the United States Border Patrol Swanton Sector.
