NASHUA –– A 27-year-old Nashua man was taken into custody on charges of armed burglary, criminal threatening, and drug possession after a dramatic standoff, the Nashua Police Department reported.
Ezquiel Polanco was arrested on September 23, 2023, just before midnight, following a report from victims stating that he had kicked in their apartment door, threatened them with a firearm, and then fled the scene in a vehicle.
Witnesses said that Polanco, who was known to the victims, was wearing latex gloves when he entered the apartment and brandished a firearm.
The victims were able to force him out of the apartment before he left the area in his vehicle.
In response to an area-wide broadcast with the description of Polanco’s vehicle, officers spotted it nearby and conducted a stop. Polanco was initially arrested and charged with DUI.
Further investigation led to detectives obtaining a search warrant for Polanco’s vehicle, where they found a loaded firearm and other evidence linking him to the burglary and threats.
Polanco is now facing felony charges of burglary with a firearm and two counts of criminal threatening with a firearm, as well as misdemeanor DUI, and a violation-level charge for possession of under ¾ ounce of Marijuana.
He was held on preventative detention and is set to be arraigned at the Hillsborough County Superior Court – Southern District on Monday, September 25, 2023, at 1:00 PM.
