SUV crashes into vacant Southern New Hampshire University building

NASHUA –– First responders rushed to the scene of a vehicle crash late Friday night after reports of a Ford Bronco crashing into a building at 546 Amherst St.

Nashua Fire Rescue, AMR ambulance, and police arrived around 11 p.m., finding the SUV had veered off Amherst Street and into the vacant building.

The young female driver, who had managed to extricate herself from the vehicle, was evaluated by AMR medics.

Although visibly upset, she appeared to have sustained no physical injuries.

Firefighters conducted a swift evaluation of the building’s structural integrity.

They determined the vehicle could be removed without causing further damage. After clearing some debris around the SUV, crews maneuvered it into a position that allowed for safe removal by a tow truck.

1st Priority towing promptly removed the SUV from the building.

The building, previously occupied by Southern New Hampshire University, was empty at the time of the crash.

Currently under construction, it is set to house a new restaurant in the near future.
