SHAFTSBURY — A 28-year-old woman was charged with leaving the scene of an accident in Shaftsbury today.
The crash took place on Twitchell Hill Road at around 7:40 a.m.
Police say that a motor vehicle had failed to maintain lanes for travel, where the vehicle collided with two mailboxes, continued through people’s front yards, and left the scene.
The driver of the motor vehicle failed to stop and report the incident to the State Police.
Troopers found probable cause to charge Kiona Kinney, of Shaftsbury, with the offense of leaving the scene of an accident.
Kinney was also issued two Vermont Civil Violation Complaints for operating without liability insurance and plates not assigned, totaling $324 in fines.
She was released on a criminal citation to answer the offense at a later date and time.
