PERU — A 21-year-old man from Jamaica was cited for DUI following a crash in Peru yesterday.
The two-vehicle head-on collision took place on Route 11, at the intersection of Main Street, at around 7:05 p.m.
According to the report, Joshua Campbell was traveling on Main Street toward Route 11 when he failed to stop at the stop sign and yield to oncoming traffic.
Tricia Kramer, 50, of Londonderry, attempted to swerve to miss the collision but was unable to do so.
Both vehicles, driven by Campbell and Kramer, collided head-on, resulting in minor injuries.
Campbell was transported to SVMC for his injuries.
Police say the investigation further led to Campbell being criminally cited for driving under the influence and negligent operation.
He was issued a criminal citation to appear in court on October 30 for the charges.
