MANCHESTER –– A 30-year-old wanted man was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 6, after attempting to escape police by jumping off a roof, causing injuries to his face and upper body.
Hector Rodriguez, of Manchester, was wanted on multiple felony warrants from various counties, according to the Manchester Police Anti-Crime Unit.
The warrants were for failure to appear for possession of Fentanyl out of Belknap and Rockingham Counties, and failure to appear for reckless operation and habitual offender charges out of Merrimack County.
Upon receiving information about Rodriguez’s whereabouts at 235 Hanover St., police officers arrived on the scene.
They ordered Rodriguez to come outside, but he instead climbed onto the roof of a neighboring building and jumped off.
His fall was broken by a railing, which he hit with his face and upper body, causing it to break.
Rodriguez was taken into custody by the police and transported to a local hospital for evaluation of his injuries.
Following the incident, he was additionally charged with resisting arrest and criminal mischief for attempting to evade the police and for breaking the railing, respectively.
