PELHAM –– A suspect was arrested following multiple home burglaries in Pelham on Tuesday. Police were alerted to the crime when a resident on May Lane reported a break-in at approximately 4:46 p.m., according to the Pelham Police Department.
The resident remained hidden inside the home until officers arrived and safely escorted him out. The suspect, however, had already fled the scene.
The Salem, Hudson, and Windham Police Departments assisted in establishing a perimeter and searching the house.
At around 6:39 p.m., officers were flagged down by another resident who claimed to have seen a man matching the suspect’s description.
The individual, later identified as 36-year-old Justin Spencer of Manchester, fled into a wooded area behind a residence on Simpson Road before being apprehended without incident.
Further investigation revealed that Spencer had also burglarized a second home on Velma Circle in Pelham.
He was denied bail and is currently being held at the Hillsborough County Jail in Manchester.
Spencer is slated for arraignment at the Hillsborough County Superior Court on Sept. 6, 2023, on two charges of burglary, resisting arrest, criminal mischief, and criminal threatening.
