ORLEANS — A 51-year-old man from Quebec was cited for failing to stop after hitting a truck in Orleans on Monday.
Authorities say they were notified that a tractor-trailer combination traveling south on I-91 had sideswiped a Ford pickup which was on the Orleans southbound on-ramp.
Police say the truck failed to stop and continued traveling south.
A trooper was able to catch up to the vehicle on I-91 in St Johnsbury, where a motor vehicle stop was conducted.
The vehicle was identified as a Peterbilt 389 and trailer laden with pallets of pellets.
The driver, identified as Sylvain Beaudoin, of Magog, Quebec, was issued a citation to appear in court and released from the scene.
Police say no injuries were reported.
