MONTPELIER –– A Montpelier couple was arrested on charges of lewd and lascivious conduct and prohibited conduct on Memorial Drive on Sept. 1, according to Montpelier Police Department.
Officer Joshua Rolland and Corporal Michael Philbrick were on regular patrol at 10:55 a.m. when they observed a 49-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman engaging in a sex act in plain view of passing vehicles and pedestrians.
The officers intervened and put an end to the graphic display.
An ensuing investigation led to the arrest of the couple, both residents of Montpelier, on charges of lewd and lascivious conduct and prohibited conduct.
No assisting agencies were involved in the incident, and the Montpelier Police Department has not released the names of the suspects.
