BELLOWS FALLS –– A 16-year-old student was charged with simple assault following a physical altercation at Bellows Falls Union High School on Aug. 30, according to the Windham County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy Thomas Raymond, who led the investigation, said the sheriff’s office received a report of the incident that occurred in the school’s bathroom.
The authorities determined that the accused had committed an assault against another 16-year-old classmate.
The accused, whose identity is protected due to their minor status, was cited to appear in the Windham Superior Court Family Division at a later date.
They were subsequently released to a parent.
The Windham County Sheriff’s Office maintains its policy of not releasing the names of juveniles involved in criminal cases in order to protect their identities.
