NASHUA –– A six-car crash in Nashua left several people injured and caused heavy traffic disruption on Wednesday evening.
The accident, initially reported as involving eight vehicles, occurred at the intersection of Coliseum Avenue and Broad Street, according to Nashua Fire Rescue, AMR ambulance, and Nashua Police.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene around 7 p.m., where they found multiple vehicles with substantial damage and several people suffering from injuries.
Despite the severity of the crash, none of the injuries were deemed life-threatening.
The affected vehicles were found in the westbound lane of Broad Street, which was subsequently closed to all traffic.
Three AMR ambulances transported multiple victims to a nearby hospital, while firefighters and AMR medics evaluated others at the scene. Several drivers and passengers refused medical treatment, although visibly upset.
In a surprising turn of events, police placed one man in handcuffs and removed him from the scene in a police cruiser.
However, details regarding potential charges he may face remain undisclosed.
The accident scene remained active for approximately two hours as several tow trucks worked to clear the wreckage.
The Nashua Police Department is currently managing the ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident.
