SPRINGFIELD –– A road rage incident on Interstate 91 Northbound between Mile Marker 36 and 42 led to an accident early Monday morning, according to Weathersfield Police Department.
At approximately 6:50 a.m. on August 28, police received a complaint of an altercation between a black Buick style SUV and a Toyota Prius.
The black SUV reportedly followed the Prius closely, tailgating and repeatedly pulling up next to it before falling back, from mile marker 36 until mile marker 41.
The altercation culminated in an accident just north of the Springfield Exit 7.
Potential vehicle contact led the operator of the Prius to lose control and veer off the roadway.
Authorities are now seeking witnesses to the incident.
