MERRIMACK –– A resident of Merrimack, Devin Hardy, 24, was arrested and charged with indecent exposure and lewdness following an extensive investigation into reports of a man behaving inappropriately in local parks, Merrimack Police announced.

Authorities said the investigation, which involves multiple jurisdictions, was initiated after receiving reports of a man who would “expose or manipulate his genitals in a lewd manner in the view of the public.”

In a bid to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation, Merrimack Police Chief Brian Levesque declined to release Hardy’s booking photo.

The investigation remains active with the involvement of several local agencies that have received similar complaints in recent months.

The suspect description and details, including clothing and physical attributes, matched Hardy’s profile in each of these separate incidents.

On August 7, authorities responded to a report at Wildcat Falls, where a male was reported exposing himself to passersby. Following the incident, Hardy was positively identified as the suspect.

The police subsequently applied and were granted an arrest warrant for Hardy. Online searches indicate that Hardy resides on Newton Street in Merrimack, near the Birches Open Space, a large parcel of land not listed as a location in any of the reported incidents.

Hardy was arrested, processed, and later released on a $5,000 cash bail.

He is set to appear in the 9th Circuit Merrimack District Court on September 12, to answer to the charges.

Merrimack Police are encouraging anyone with information about this case or others to contact them at (603) 424-3774.
