CHOCORUA –– A 65-year-old man was arrested on a warrant Monday night on multiple charges, including driving after revocation or suspension resulting in death or serious bodily injury, obstructing government administration, possession of registration and use of a mobile electronic device.
Whipple Roberts, of Chocorua, is alleged to have provided an officer with a false name during a traffic stop on July 25.
The officer later identified Roberts’ true identity and drafted a warrant for his arrest.
The charges stem from an incident in which Roberts is accused of driving after his license had been revoked or suspended due to a previous incident resulting in death or serious bodily injury.
Roberts is also charged with obstructing government administration, a crime that involves interfering with a public official’s duties, and with possession of registration, which is a violation of vehicle registration laws.
Additionally, he faces a charge for use of a mobile electronic device, likely related to texting or using a cellphone while driving.
Roberts was released from the Carroll County Department of Corrections on Tuesday. No further details about the case were immediately available.
