SHAFTSBURY — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash in Shaftsbury yesterday.
The crash took place in the area of White Creek Road and Cold Spring Road at around 6:30 p.m.
According to the report, Bruce Knapp, 73, of Shaftsbury, was attempting to turn onto Cold Spring Road when Kjell Hemstead, 27, of Bennington, was attempting to overtake Knapp.
Police say Knapp started to make his turn when Hemstead drove off the road.
Hemstead ultimately hit a telephone pole causing his car to flip and land on its side.
Troopers were assisted on the scene by Shaftsbury Fire Department and Bennington Rescue Squad.
