BERLIN –– A Massachusetts woman was injured in an off-road vehicle accident at Jericho State Park on Wednesday, August 9, at around 4:15 p.m.
Lisa Dinunno, 56, of Bridgewater, Massachusetts, was riding in a side by side, a type of off-road vehicle, when it rolled after turning too sharply.
Dinunno, who was seat belted but not wearing a helmet, suffered minor injuries.
Her 21-year-old son, Nico Dinunno, was operating the vehicle at the time of the incident.
The Berlin Fire Department and EMS responded to a 911 call from the scene.
At the time of the call, all New Hampshire Fish and Game Conservation Officers were engaged in a rescue mission involving a seriously injured hiker who needed to be airlifted.
Unable to respond immediately to the crash, Conservation Officers requested assistance from the Berlin Police Department, with whom they have had a long-standing working relationship.
With the police department’s help, a Conservation Officer was able to finish coordinating the helicopter rescue before responding to the crash.
Lisa Dinunno was transported to Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin by Berlin EMS for further treatment.
