JEFFERSONVILLE — A 31-year-old man from Cambridge was arrested following an incident in Jeffersonville today.
Authorities say they were notified of a theft at the Madonna Mobil on Route 15 at around 7:50 a.m.
Police allege that Andrew Roy-Bengston entered the store and removed a case of Twisted Tea hard iced tea from the cooler.
Roy-Bengston then went to the checkout line and requested a pack of cigarettes.
Police say he informed the store employee he was not paying for the items, so the store employee took the items off the counter.
He then allegedly forcefully removed the items from the store employee’s hands and fled the store.
Troopers located Roy-Bengston and placed him under arrest.
He was lodged at Northwest State Correctional Facility on a probation violation and issued a citation ordering him to appear in court.
