PAWLET — A 33-year-old woman was arrested following an incident in Pawlet yesterday.
Authorities say they were notified of a violation of an order against stalking on School Street at around 6:10 p.m.
Following an investigation, it was found that Ruth Byrne, of Pawlet, had violated a court order prohibiting stalking.
Police allege she assaulted Gilbert Mach, 72, of Pawlet, and violated a notice against trespass.
Byrne was taken into custody and transported to the Rutland barracks for processing.
She was lodged at Marble Valley Correctional Facility for lack of bail at $2,500.
She is scheduled to appear in court today.
