ORWELL — A 31-year-old man from Middlebury was killed during a motorcycle crash in Orwell yesterday.
The crash took place on Vermont Route 22A at around 8:45 p.m.
According to the report, the driver, identified as Travis G. Broussard, was traveling south when he lost control and exited the lane.
Broussard then entered the eastbound shoulder.
The bike slid on its side, caught fire, and came to a position of uncontrolled rest in the northbound lane.
Police say the driver, whose identity will be released upon notification of his next of kin sustained fatal injuries.
State police were assisted by members of Middlebury Rescue and the Orwell Volunteer Fire department.
