SWANTON — A Highgate man is facing charges of grand larceny and unlawful mischief after reportedly stealing a trailer from a residence in Swanton, according to state police.
Troopers from the St. Albans Barracks were notified at approximately 9:19 a.m. on June 20 about a 22-foot enclosed trailer that had been taken from a home on Middle Road.
The trailer belonged to Ashley Kirk, 32, of Swanton.
Investigation revealed that Laurent Bourdeau, 69, of Highgate, had taken the trailer and returned it later the same day.
However, upon its return, the trailer and the items inside were found to have been damaged.
Bourdeau was issued a citation to appear in Franklin County Superior Court on August 29 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the charges.
