DERBY — A 34-year-old woman from Barton was arrested Saturday afternoon for alleged reckless driving near the I-91 interchange on US Route 5, according to Vermont State Police.
The authorities identified the suspect as Kristen Pierce, who was observed driving her black Ford Edge erratically and at a dangerously high speed in a commercial area in Derby.
Police reports indicated that Pierce was weaving in and out of traffic and veering out of her lane.
Police pulled over Pierce shortly after the observations were made around 3:35 p.m.
Following her arrest, Pierce was transported to the VSP Derby Barracks where she was processed for the charges.
Pierce was later released with a citation for grossly negligent operation.
She is due to appear in court at a later date.
