HIGHGATE — A 47-year-old man from Canada was arrested on a warrant in Highgate yesterday.
Authorities say they were notified of an individual who had crossed into the United States with an active arrest warrant from the state of Florida at around 12:15 p.m.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection detained the individual until troopers arrived.
Police say that Sebastien Gauthier, of Quebec, Canada, had an arrest warrant from the state of Florida for a charge of burglary.
Gauthier was arrested and lodged at Northwest State Correctional Center for lack of $25,000 bail.
He is scheduled to be arraigned in court today.
