FAIRLEE — A 79-year-old woman from New Hampshire was killed during a single-vehicle crash in Fairlee yesterday.
The crash took place on US Route 5 at around 8:35 p.m.
According to the report, Miriam Metz, of Haverhill, NH, was traveling north when she failed to negotiate a left-hand turn and left the road.
The vehicle came to a final position of uncontrolled rest approximately 500 feet from where it left the road on the east side of Route 5.
Metz sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash.
She was transported by EMS to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for her injuries.
While at Dartmouth, Metz passed away due to the injuries she sustained.
State Police were assisted by the Fairlee Fire Department and Upper Valley Ambulance service.
Police are still investigating this crash.
