MIDDLEBURY — A 52-year-old man from Bridport was arrested for his third DUI following an incident in Middlebury yesterday.
Police say they initiated a traffic stop on North Pleasant Street, near Seminary Street, after observing a motor vehicle violation at around 8:10 p.m.
The driver was identified as Ronald Gorton Jr.
A DMV query revealed Gorton’s license was criminally suspended in the state of Vermont.
While speaking with Gorton, police say they detected indicators of impairment.
He was screened, placed under arrest, and transported to the New Haven barracks for processing.
At the conclusion of processing, Gorton was released to a sober party with a citation to appear in court at a later date.
He is facing charges of DUI #3, and DLS.
