ROLLINSFORD — Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred in Rollinsford last week.
Authorities say they were notified of a motor-vehicle crash and fire on Baer Road at around 3:25 a.m. on April 27.
Police say the truck was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived.
The Rollinsford Fire Department extinguished the fire and located a deceased man in the vehicle.
The NH State Fire Marshal’s Office responded to the scene to investigate the origin and cause of the fire.
Police say evidence at the scene indicates that the truck failed to negotiate a curve, left the road, and struck a tree.
The fire was the result of the crash.
The victim was transported to the NH State Medical Examiner’s Office in Concord for an autopsy, which occurred this morning.
Police say the cause of death was determined to be thermal inhalation injuries.
The manner of death is accidental, and a positive identification of the victim is pending.
