RICHFORD — A man was injured after crashing his riding lawn mower into a car in Richford.
The crash occurred today at approximately 12:19 p.m. on Province Street near the intersection of Green Avenue.
Karl Barnes, 69, was riding his lawn mower down Green Avenue when he reportedly lost his brakes and accelerated to an unknown speed.
Barnes crashed into a passing 2021 Volvo XC40 driven by Jennifer Leach, 37, who was traveling north on Province Street.
Barnes sustained minor cuts and scrapes and was transported to Northwest Medical Center in St. Albans.
Leach and her three passengers were not injured.
The lawn mower sustained moderate damage, and the Volvo sustained minor damage to the passenger side rear door and left front wheel but was able to be driven from the scene.
The Richford Fire Department and Richford Rescue responded to the crash, which remains under investigation.
