ARLINGTON — A 47-year-old man was arrested following an incident in Arlington yesterday.
Authorities say they were notified of a vehicle that had struck a person and fled from the scene on River Road at around 5:30 p.m.
Police say that Brian Foy, of Burlington, was dropping off an individual at a home on River Road.
As the individual exited the vehicle, police say Foy accelerated at a high rate of speed, throwing the victim from the vehicle, who suffered bodily injury.
Police say Foy fled the area, later being located in West Rutland after being involved in a motor vehicle crash.
Foy was taken into custody for operating a stolen vehicle with a criminally suspended driver’s license and suspicion of driving under the influence.
He was ordered held on a $25,000 bail for the offense of first-degree aggravated domestic assault and gross negligent operation.
He is set to have a court date of April 25, at 12:30 p.m, at the Bennington Superior Court.
