CANDIA — A 17-year-old from Auburn was seriously injured during a crash in Candia yesterday.
The crash took place on Route 101 east at around 6:05 p.m.
According to the report, a Ram 2500 pickup truck was traveling along Route 101 approaching mile marker 108 when for reasons that remain under investigation, the pickup truck departed the left side of the road and entered the center median.
The truck struck a large rock formation that was present in the center median.
As a result of the impact with the rock, the pickup truck overturned multiple times prior to coming to rest in the travel portion of the highway.
Several passing motorists stopped at the scene to render aid to the driver until emergency services arrived.
The driver was transported via ambulance to Elliot Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Route 101 east in the area of the crash was closed for approximately 45 minutes as troopers investigated the scene and emergency personnel worked to facilitate the removal of the pickup truck involved along with the associated debris.
