ROYALTON — A man was arrested following an incident in Royalton last week.
Authorities say they were notified of a man in a plaid shirt and shorts actively attempting to break into vehicles at the Vermont Law & Graduate School at around 5:05 p.m.
The Royalton Police Department was directed to the area by the caller underneath the west side of the Chelsea Street bridge.
Police say a man fitting the description given to them was spotted and detained.
The man was identified as Sumner Goodell, of Royalton, with an active warrant for his arrest.
He was issued a citation to appear for the warrant and another citation to appear on June 20 for false information to a police officer, a notice of trespass for the Vermont Law & Graduate School.
Hw was transported to Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield.
