NEW HAVEN — A 19-year-old man was arrested for DUI following a crash in New Haven this morning.
The single-vehicle crash took place on US Route 7, near the intersection with Hunt Road, at around 1:50 a.m.
Police say that Victor Espiritua, of New Haven, was traveling south when he crossed the centerline into the oncoming lane.
He then left the road off the northbound lane, and hit a telephone pole.
Espiritua was transported to the hospital where police say they detected indicators of impairment and collected an evidentiary blood sample.
He was released with a citation to appear in court at a later date.
