Two men arrested for package theft in Greenland

1 min read

GREENLAND – Two men from New York were arrested by the Greenland Police Department after they were caught stealing packages from a resident’s porch.

According to the police report, officers responded to a call from a citizen who reported seeing an unfamiliar man wearing a hood and a medical-type mask looking in a window.

The man then picked up a package and left in a waiting car.

Officers quickly located the suspect vehicle and arrested the two men after a short investigation.

While package theft is unfortunately common, this particular scam involved a suspect creating an account in the name and address of a stranger and ordering items to be delivered to that person’s address.

The suspect would then track the delivery and arrive shortly after the delivery to take the package and its contents.

Police are encouraging residents to report any suspicious activity and any missing packages, and to regularly check their credit to make sure they haven’t been compromised.

The incident occurred on March 29, at approximately 8:34 p.m.
