DUI, negligent operation charges after man drives over lawns in St. Johnsbury

ST. JOHNSBURY — A 33-year-old man was arrested following an incident in St. Johnsbury yesterday.

Authorities say they were flagged down by a motorist who reported observing a vehicle driving erratically on Main Street at around 5:30 p.m.

This erratic operation was also described as driving over lawns and on the opposite lane of travel through the residential North Danville Road in Danville.

Police located the vehicle on Main Street.

Police say they observed signs of impairment on the driver, identified as Nathan Spencer.

The driver was arrested for suspicion of DUI drugs after sobriety tests.

Following processing at the St. Johnsbury police station, Spencer was charged with DUI and negligent operation.
