HOPKINTON — Police responded to a crash in Hopkinton early this morning.
Authorities were notified that a commercial motor vehicle struck the guardrail and overturned blocking I-89 north at around 5:10 a.m.
Police say the truck was traveling in the right lane as it approached a right-hand curve in the road and hit the right-hand guardrail.
The driver overcorrected resulting in the truck overturning and coming to rest, blocking both lanes of travel.
The driver suffered minor injuries in the crash and was extricated from the truck by Trooper First Class Myrdek from the Troop D barracks.
The driver was evaluated at the scene by Hopkinton and Concord Fire and Rescue and transported to a local hospital as a result of his injuries.
The interstate was shut down for approximately 2 hours until the truck could be safely removed from the road.
Police say neither speed nor alcohol appear to be factors in this crash.
