BENNINGTON – The death investigation launched by the Vermont State Police is ongoing after the identification of Darrel Jones, 33, as the victim of an incident that occurred at the Bennington Police Department.
Jones, who had most recently been living in Albany, New York, and Pennsylvania, was found dead at the police department on Thursday, March 23, at around 4:40 p.m.
An autopsy was conducted on Friday, March 24, at the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington.
The cause and manner of Jones’ death have yet to be determined as toxicology testing is still pending, which may take several weeks or even months.
The Vermont State Police continue their investigation into the incident, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
