Bennington woman arrested for selling drugs resulting in death

BENNINGTON – A woman has been arrested for selling drugs resulting in the death of a Sunderland man in December 2021.

On December 10, 2021, the Vermont State Police were called to investigate the death of Bryan Hawley, who was found to have died from an accidental overdose of Fentanyl and Tramadol combination.

After a lengthy investigation, Amanda Morey, 35, of Bennington, was arrested today for selling or dispensing a regulated drug to Bryan Hawley, ultimately resulting in his death.

She was charged with selling or dispensing a regulated drug with death resulting and is currently in custody pending her arraignment.

Vermont State Police detectives are continuing to investigate, and say additional charges are likely.
