Woman arrested for DUI and assaulting police officer in Northfield

NORTHFIELD – A woman from Laconia, New Hampshire was arrested early this morning for driving under the influence and assaulting a police officer.

Trooper Cotnoir was monitoring traffic on Interstate 93 when he observed a vehicle traveling through the Canterbury rest area without any lights illuminated.

The vehicle then came to a stop in the travel lane on the on-ramp returning to the mainline.

After stopping the vehicle, Cotnoir identified the operator as Vanessa L. Hall, 39, of Laconia, NH.

Following a roadside investigation, Trooper Cotnoir placed Hall under arrest for driving under the influence.

However, during the arrest, Hall allegedly resisted and kicked Trooper Cotnoir in the hand.

Hall was transported to the Merrimack County House of Corrections in Boscawen, NH, where she was bailed and released on her own personal recognizance.

She was charged with driving under the influence, assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, lights required, and stopping, standing prohibited.

She is scheduled to appear in the Franklin District Court on April 10, 2023.
