WOODSTOCK – The White Mountain Snowmobile Club is being recognized for their quick response and assistance in rescuing a man and his granddaughter whose snowmobile became stuck on a trail near Elbow Pond on March 15.
The Woodstock Police Department received a request for aid from the stranded pair, who had abandoned their machine in search of cellular service to call for help.
Club members responded immediately to clear the obstruction and recover the sled, providing the service free of charge.
The department took to Facebook this afternoon to thank the local club for their help.
“Just another fine example of the outstanding community we are so proud to represent,” the department said.
