1 min read

LONDONDERRY –Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police (NHSP) responded to reports of low hanging power lines on I-93 north and south at mile marker 12 in Londonderry today.

The heavy snowfall was cited as the cause of the downed lines which were clipped by a tractor-trailer, resulting in a separate tractor-trailer becoming disabled.

I-93 north and south, as well as the exit 4 and 5 on-ramps, were shut down while personnel worked tirelessly to clear the scene. The roadways were opened back up within an hour.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fallen power lines.

However, troopers responded to numerous crashes and vehicles off the roadway due to the storm.

Officials urge the public to avoid unnecessary travel until the storm subsides.

If travel is necessary, it is recommended to drive with caution, reduce speed, buckle up, and leave extra space between vehicles.

Conditions are slowly improving as the day progresses.
