Truck driver charged with DUI in New London

NEW LONDON — A 64-year-old man from New York was arrested for aggravated driving while intoxicated following an incident in New London yesterday.

Authorities say they were notified of a tractor-double trailer that was traveling all over the road and had possibly struck a guardrail on I-89 north at around 11:25 p.m.

Police say they located the driver as he exited the interstate at exit 11.

Trooper McGrath from the New Hampshire State Police arrived shortly after and conducted a roadside investigation reference possible impairment of the driver.

The driver was identified as Thomas Hawk Newburgh, NY.

After the roadside investigation was completed, Hawk was arrested for aggravated driving while intoxicated and open container.

He was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in court on April 11.
