WINOOSKI — A single-vehicle crash occurred on Interstate 89 southbound just north of Exit 15 this morning.
According to investigation reports, the driver, identified as Walter Thompson Jr., 62, from Waterbury, veered off the road, hitting the median guardrail.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported as a result of the crash, but the vehicle sustained total damage.
The interstate was temporarily closed down to one lane of travel while the scene was being attended to and the vehicle removed.
Troopers from the Williston barracks, Spillane’s Towing and Recovery, and the Winooski Fire Department responded to the scene and assisted in the investigation and removal of the vehicle.
