HOLLIS — If you heard a helicopter landing in Hollis yesterday, it was part of a training exercise.
The Hollis Fire Department, along with the Hollis Communications Center, the Hollis Police Department, and Boston Med Flight, participated in a joint training exercise.
The exercise was held at the Hollis Upper Elementary School and involved coordinating the transport of a critically injured patient via helicopter.
The agencies worked together towards a common goal of providing the best care to the community.
Although some aspects of the training were simulated, the teams made it as realistic as possible.
This allowed them to better prepare themselves for emergencies that might occur in the future.
It is rare for multiple agencies to get the opportunity to train together, making this exercise an important one for the Hollis community.
The Hollis Fire Department expressed their gratitude to all the agencies involved and recognized the importance of working together.
This training provided the opportunity for all agencies to learn from each other and improve their coordination in the future.
