HOPKINTON — A 42-year-old man from Connecticut was arrested following a crash in Hopkinton yesterday.

Authorities say they were notified of a commercial motor vehicle-related crash occurring at a business on Maple Street at around 11:15 p.m.

According to the report, Jermayne Eubanks, of Tolland, CT, attempted to drive off, striking a cement pole and an exit gate, causing a second crash.

The second crash resulted in significant property damage and caused the front axle of the trailer to become disconnected.

Police say Eubanks attempted to flee on foot, resulting in his arrest by the Hopkinton Police Department for conduct after accident, reckless driving, and reckless conduct.

Several motor carrier violations were observed, resulting in the vehicle being placed out-of-service.

An out-of-service order is given to a commercial driver or vehicle that violates a certain set of conditions with the purpose to protect the public from imminent safety hazards.

Police say driver inattention is believed to be a factor in the crash.
